Cash only for entry. Each mountain will have full build and creative control for their set up with the intent to produce a course that will showcase versatility and well rounded riding ability. The set ups will be divided into sections, in which riders will have a timed heat to try and qualify for the finals. The top 10 riders from each division will make the finals, which will then be held on a completely different section from qualifiers.
Destroyer, Youngblood, Aura: $20
*Unless you have a season pass, you will have to purchase a lift ticket for $25.
There are three divisions.
If you want to compete against the best on the east coast, this is your division. Although anyone can enter this division, keep in mind if you’re under 18 you can NOT win the overall prize to Superpark.
If you’re not quite up for Superpark, but are perhaps looking to lock down some serious product support on your quest for greatnress, the Youngblood division is for you. Sandbaggers beware, any ringers will be booted, we know who you are.
Point breakdown is as follows:
Points from each event count towards the overall prize.
The 2012 prizes for Eastern Snowboard League are provided by our array of brand partners. The Destroyer division competes for points, a small amount of product, as well as cold hard cash per stop.
The Youngblood division competes for product per stop, with their points accruing throughout the season in hopes of netting a head to toe sponsorship for one year from select Eastern Snowboard League partners.
Last but not least, the ladies of the Aura division throw down per event for product, with the top lady taking home a cash purse (no designer labels here).
Snowboarding and the subculture that define it are truly infinite by design. Founded upon the concepts of dynamic individualism, the Eastern Snowboard League has been formed as an avenue to highlight the talent and competitive identities of the riders and resorts based on the east coast. This league will be a collaborative effort of select resorts and brands which embody the originality, progression , and undying spirit of east coast snowboarding.
The Eastern Snowboard League is the brain child of The Program* brands, Holiday Valley Resort, big boulder PARK, and Seven Springs Mountain Resort. Thus in it’s second year, the series will feature three events in which riders can
accumulate points towards the over all standings. The host resorts and respective park crews will pull out all the stops to present riders with the most progressive and innovative contest format set ups to date. Each resort will capitalize on its unique identity, allowing their park crews to showcase their build talents that have earned them national recognition.
The Eastern Snowboard League was conceived with the notion of giving back to our communities, and culture of east coast snowboarding. Its most basic function is to cultivate the talent of up and coming riders on the east coast, giving them an avenue not only to progress with their peers, but also to expose them
to the next level of competitive snowboarding.
Eastern Snowboard League will feature a continuous marketing effort, through traditional print media, social media, and easternsnowboardleague.com. Exclusive video features including interviews with riders and organizers, blogs, and photo content will drive the site. Results and standings will be emphasized with press releases to endemic media outlets, with complete photo and video accompaniments. Consistent value driven advertising will be present through key retail accounts, as well as resort and brand partnerships.
